We are pleased to announce the special edition of Somaya Critchlow’s artist book Afternoon’s Darkness.

Afternoon’s Darkness is released in a special edition of 13 for £1,500 each.

Each edition includes an 85 x 130 mm drawing, as below:

The editions are available to purchase from our book website at 12:00 pm on Wednesday 13 March — an edition of 13, on the 13th day of the 3rd month.

Afternoon's Darkness was published following the namesake exhibition by Somaya Critchlow presented at Maximillian William, London during autumn 2022. Designed by Jules Estèves, the publication features reproductions of all artworks in the exhibition, amongst some of Critchlow's personal photographs, accompanied by an essay written by curator and writer Alison Gingeras, who most recently curated the exhibition "Pictures Girls Make": Portraitures at BLUM Los Angeles which featured work by Critchlow, and an interview between Critchlow and Katherine Angel, author of Unmastered: A Book on Desire, Most Difficult to Tell.

The publication consists of a 32-page folio book in a fitted box. It was produced in England in an edition of 500 and was published by Maximillian William, London. ISBN: 978-1-8384673-3-3.
