Chair 001-V.1 is Reginald Sylvester II’s first production chair with an emphasis in construction and materiality. Sylvester’s thoughts concerning furniture exist within studio and home environments.
In a time where aesthetic proceeds function, Sylvester believes a foundation in function can still yield compelling forms.
Form and functionality are integral to the composition of Chair 001-V.1. With its slightly curved backrest and exceptional width, Chair 001-V.1 offers spinal support that transitions into wide seating that creates comfortability for its users. Its form finishes at its round-tipped-legs that provides a signature stance.
001-V.1 is composed of 100% white ash. In its production, every chair is hand-dyed to an ebonized patina. Its matte finish is a reflection of its seamless construction—giving the illusion of a singularly sculpted form. Chair 001-V.1 now available for purchase here.
