Coco Capitan (b.1992, Seville, Spain) is based in London. Capitán completed her Master of Fine Arts with Honours in the field of Photography at the Royal College of Art, London, in 2016. Capitán’s work is featured in collections including Maison Europeene de la Photographie (MEP), Paris and Huis Marseille Museum for Photography, Amsterdam. She has published several books, among them Transsiberian, If You’ve Seen It All Close Your Eyes and Middle Point Between my House and China.

Dr Lena Fritsch is the Curator of Modern & Contemporary Art at the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford. Recent exhibitions and publications include Tokyo: Art & Photography (2021), A.R. Penck: I Think in Pictures (2019) and Ibrahim El Salahi: A Sudanese Artist in Oxford (2018).

John McCarthy is joint owner and principal printer at Labyrinth Photographic in East London. His approach of putting the photographer at the heart of the process and his championing of analogue hand printing come from his time in renowned ‘90s labs such as LTI – where he worked under Jeremy Ramsden on a client list that included Elaine Constantine, Brian Griffin and Tim Walker. This ethos of printing remains at the heart of John’s work with Coco Capitán and is seen in the current exhibition NAÏVY: in fifty (definitive) photographs at Maximillian William, London.
