“There are parts of our bodies and genders that aren’t visible, as if they were under water. There are spaces that can’t be easily defined, that are forever shifting”.

Ro Robertson will unveil a new outdoor sculpture, Drench, at Frieze Sculpture in Regent’s Park, London on 14 September 2022.

Drench is the latest manifestation of Robertson’s exploration of the ‘terrain of the queer body’ which welds the figure and the landscape as one. The semi-abstract figures of Drench – which exist between the sea and the body – offer an expanded reading of the body free from binary and rigid understandings.

Frieze Sculpture is curated by Clare Lilley and will be open from 14 September – 13 November 2022 and is free to the public.
